Self Portrait 2006

Self Portrait
2006

(Left - close up of section, full image shown right)

This was taken from a picture where I was in fact in fancy dress! (As a pirate) I particulary liked the pose and movement of the image. (However, my legs didn't quite fit onto the canvas!) It has been reproduced in oils with some personal additions and embellishments, for instance...

a) Ballet shoe (I was maybe around 6)

b) Legoman on stem of rose, playmobil style man on top - toys I played with in my youth.

c) Badge from a birthday card.

d) Barbie shoes! (Right side, stuck along edge of canvas) These were the ones to which I could never find a pair.

e) Peter Rabbit from the inside of my childhood jewellery box. Etc..

I am also adding to this as I feel (or find!) I think there may even be an earring attached on there somewhere. It's about A2 sized. Took a few days to complete. (Drying time the biggest nuscience with oils)
